At Mark International Summer School, student safety and wellbeing are central to the summer experience. Every student receives a thorough induction on arrival, introducing our expectations, standards of behaviour, personal safety guidance, and the support available during their stay. Supervision is adapted to each age group, with closer care for younger learners and greater independence for older students within clearly defined boundaries.
Regular check-ins, established daily routines, suitable curfews, and an accessible residential team help students feel settled and supported. Throughout the programme, staff are available to offer guidance, address concerns, and create an environment where students can enjoy learning, exploring, and making new friends with confidence.
Care and Supervision for Every Age Group
At Mark International Summer School, our safeguarding and pastoral support reflect students’ ages and individual needs, providing an appropriate balance of supervision, independence, and reassurance.
For students aged 9–12, House Parents, Welfare Managers, and residential staff provide attentive supervision, organised routines, and accompanied activities. This nurturing approach helps younger students feel secure, settle into life away from home, and gradually build confidence.
For students aged 13–24, we encourage increasing independence alongside clear expectations and appropriate oversight. Welfare Officers, Study Leaders, and Course Directors offer ongoing guidance, helping students develop responsibility and confidence while ensuring support remains readily available.
Raising Concerns and Accessing Support
At Mark International Summer School, students are encouraged to ask for help whenever they feel worried, uncertain, or in need of reassurance. Before the programme begins, families receive contact details for our safeguarding and welfare teams. During their stay, students can speak to any trusted staff member, including tutors, House Parents, Welfare Officers, and Course Directors.
All concerns are treated seriously and handled promptly, sensitively, and in accordance with our safeguarding procedures. Our trained safeguarding team works with students, families, and relevant staff to respond appropriately, maintain clear communication, and provide the care each student needs to feel safe and supported throughout their summer experience.
